Identification Tips:
Muscovite mica cleaves
into thin sheets as can be seen in the photo (right). It closely resembles
biotite mica but muscovite is usually lighter in color. Do not
mistake it's
shiny appearance for
metallic luster. Muscovite mica shows nonmetallic
luster.
