Map Symbols
Whenever an illustration or diagram involving sedimentary or metamorphic rocks appears on a regents, these symbols are used. Often the only way to identify a type of rock is by using the map symbols. For example...........

By matching each layer in the diagram with the
symbol found on page 7 it's easy to identify........
layer G as sandstone, layer F as conglomerate, layers E, C, and A as shale and
layers D and B as limestone.
