aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

IIn June of 1621 the renowned German scientist Johannes Kepler made a unique but little known observation. He realized that the length of his shadow had increased from the time he entered church early on a Sunday morning until noon when he left to return home. Puzzled by this unusual phenomenon Kepler set about to find an explanation. Although he continued to investigate until the time of his death in 1630 he was unable to account for what he had seen.

Today of course we know that on June 23rd, 1621 there was a solar inversion, a well understood phenomenon of which few people outside the scientific community are aware.

During a solar inversion the Sun appears in the sky upside down. As a result the inverted insolation behaves in strange and often subtle ways. It is responsible for the famous 'shadow effect' first described by Kepler. During an inversion many bird species which rely on solar cues for navigation are unable to find their way home. Plants may demonstrate reverse phototropism bending away from the light and solar powered equipment may exhibit a wide variety of odd behaviors or fail entirely.

Solar inversions are fascinating but extremely dangerous to observe. Even inverted sunlight can damage unprotected eyes in a matter of seconds and may cause permanent reversal of optic nerve polarity. But now, with your Captain Earth Science Solar Inversion Glasses you'll be completely protected from the potentially disruptive effects of any inversion. And if you act now we'll upgrade you, at no additional charge, to our new X-ray model with dual multi-phase technology*. The X-ray model not only provides the same inversion protection as our standard lenses but now you'll be able to see through almost anything just like those guys at the airport!  So don't wait another minute.
